SPECIAL FEATURES

Well qualified staff deliver a wide curriculum to all students in Y7 to Y9. Y7 and Y8 are now undertaking ECDL. All aspects of Office 2003 are taught as well as how to access the Internet meaningfully. Students also learn web design and graphics editing. Projects are completed using a combination of these skills in areas that reflect the needs of the modern world. At GCSE skills are refined and two projects are completed. AS level challenges students to develop their understanding and application of ICT skills both in solving a real problem and documenting the solution. A2 Level further develops advanced skills in designing and building a system for a real end user using databases. ICT enjoys a pass rate of 98-100% at both GCSE and A level - well above national average, especially in the coursework modules
