INTRODUCTION
The benefits of drama cannot be underestimated. It helps all students to build their personal confidence, develops their ability to speak in public and deliver presentations. Drama provides them with invaluable tools for working in teams and problem solving. The department is lively and dynamic offering all students the opportunity to take part in learning vital skills both within the curriculum and as an extra curricular subject.

EXTRA CURRICULAR
The department produces a major production each year which is a popular event with students and parents alike. Last year saw a very successful rendition of ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens, in which pupils displayed their considerable talents. This year’s production will be ‘My Fair Lady’. To complement drama lessons there is an opportunity for all students to take part in Trinity Acting Classes after school. As well as being for the students’ pleasure, this activity can lead to further qualifications. A Christmas Revue for charity, highlights the acting talents of our pupils and staff in a ‘light-hearted’ way.

DRAMA IN THE CURRICULUM
Drama is taught at all key stages and is a popular choice at GCSE, AS & A level. Practical work is obviously key to this subject. Students study texts, develop a working knowledge of practitioners and theatre history, as well as honing their dramatic skills. Our exam results are excellent. All three examined years achieved a 100% pass rate. Once again, all our GCSE students passed at grade B or above; the majority gaining grade A*/A At A level our students gained 75% of passes at either grade A or B. Many pupils go on to study drama at University whilst others use their experience to demonstrate an ability to interact confidently and effectively with others
