INTRODUCTION
French and Spanish are the two core languages taught at Royal Russell School, both of them key languages throughout the world, spoken by over 500,000,000 people. French is taught in Y7 and Spanish is introduced in Y8 to all pupils. The teaching approach is largely communicative, aiming at both enjoyment and a high degree of oral and then written competence.
