Mr Owens' band, 'Somethin' Else,' will be performing a rock 'n' roll concert in the Junior School Hall. The trio comprising of Mr Owens on guitars, Barry Crossby on drums and Martin Wright on bass, will be supplemented by special guests, including Tommy Stankovic (a guitar teacher at Royal Russell School) and Old Russellian, Richard Newberry on guitars. Judy Moseley and Sarah North will be providing backing vocals. Half of the money raised will be sent to the Alzheimer's Society and the other half will go to Motor Neurone research, in support of Miss Culliford's brother, who has the disease. More than a million people are expected to line the banks of the river to watch the unique spectacle, which will be one of the major focal points of celebration during the special Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend.
A mix of historic and modern boats are set to take part in the event, from steamers to sailing ships, and organisers plan to create a piece of theatre on the water, incorporating music, fireworks and special effects.
40 Cadets & 6 Staff from Royal Russell School CCF will mount a guard on one of the 13 bridges along the paegent route, a unique opportunity for all those involved.

We are holding a quiz night on Friday 15 June at 7:00pm in the Senior School Library to raise money to support Magnet School in Kenya and the MAPED project in Tanzania, both of which have been visited by some of our staff and pupils in the past Live music and supper will be provided.
