Haileybury MUN - March 2012
Twenty-two students attended the Haileybury MUN conference in March. It was a tough conference with a very high standard of debating and Haileybury's biggest yet, with over 600 students from leading international and UK schools. Despite this a number of our students did really well, Hamza got his resolution debated and passed into the GA (although sadly there was not time to debate it) and Georgia, Sam and Jason also got their resolutions debated - no mean achievement with over 160 resolutions approved and only about 40 reaching committee.

Model United Nations Introduction
Royal Russell School has been active in organising and participating in Model United Nations meetings for 30 years. A Model United Nations meeting is more about developing communication skills than it is about the United Nations as an organisation. Although the UN forms the basic framework, MUN gives students the opportunity to talk to, listen to and sometimes persuade people from other schools to accept their views. Students take part in debating and public speaking and develop leadership skills.
