Saturday 28th June 2008 – Farewell Tea at 3.15pm
Chris Hedges has been the Prep School Headmaster for the past 21 years, and retires this summer. He would like to meet up with Old Russellians at his departing tea party after Royal Russell Day in the Dining Hall, from 3.15pm

Saturday 28th June 2008 – Summer Ball
This year’s summer ball takes place on the luxury boat, Erasmus, which will leave the pier at 8pm and cruise down the Thames into Central London, mooring again at 12 midnight. Bucks Fizz Reception on arrival. Dinner Jazz Trio and Disco, Coach travel included. Tickets are limited, and any O.R.s interested in joining us, should contact Julia Powell or Sue Tanner for confirmation of availability of tickets.

Thursday 14th August 2008– Reunion in Sydney, Australia
The Old Russellians are holding an informal reunion at the Opera Bar in Sydney from 8pm – 10pm. Please come along for a drink and a chat with old friends or colleagues from your Royal Russell days.

Friday 5th September – Recent Leavers’ Social Event
To be held at Coombe Lodge from 4.30pm onwards. Anyone who considers themselves a recent leaver is welcome to attend this event.

Sunday 9th November – Remembrance Service
in Chapel commencing 10.15am

Sunday 9th November – Fireworks Display and Fun Fair
– Gates open 5.30pm

Saturday 29th November 2008 – Annual Dinner
Details of this year’s Annual Dinner can be found on this downloadable letter and information relating to all future Dinners is recorded on the Message Board, with the decisions which were made by the committee in April this year.

Out and About in May 2009?
Calling any OR’s – of all ages - travelling around the Netherlands in the early May holiday period. Near Almelo in the east on Sunday 3rd May some 200 Dutch townsfolk, their children and the local band will gather in Zenderen wood at 8pm to commemorate Old Russellian Flying Officer Gerald Hood. It is a moving ceremony of children’s floral tributes, wreath laying, and Elgar’s music. If your travels can take you this way, you will be very welcome indeed.

Friday 27th November 2009 – Annual Dinner
Due to many Old Russellians wishing the Dinner to take place outside school from time to time, the committee has agreed to hold the 2009 Dinner at The Chateau, Coombe Lane, Croydon, on Friday 27th November. Post 2009 Dinners will be held occasionally outside school. Fliers were sent out with the Summer 2008 Newsletter and can be downloaded here. Please note there is a discount for people who pay for their ticket this year for next year’s Dinner.
