INTRODUCTION
The Physical Education Department enables pupils to experience a wide range of activities so that they can obtain a depth of knowledge in a variety of sports. We seek to provide an environment in which pupils are happy, keen to work and feel they can achieve, no matter what their ability.

Four experienced and committed specialist teachers with extra support from academic staff and outside coaches
Excellent facilities - large and well equipped sports hall and gymnasium with 6 changing rooms, 4 sports pitches, 4 tennis courts and 25m indoor swimming pool
An 80 minute PE lesson at KS3 including badminton, basketball, table tennis, gymnastics, indoor hockey, swimming, trampolining, volleyball, athletics and tennis
An 80 minute games lesson including football, hockey, netball, cross country, cricket, rounders and softball
A weekly swimming lesson for all pupils in Y7 AS and A Level Physical Education

The opportunity to exercise in their own time as well as having the scope to develop individual and team skills
An opportunity to represent the school at football, hockey, netball, basketball, table tennis, swimming, cross country, athletics and rounders
The inter-house sports programme enables many more pupils to play competitive sport and develop leadership skills.
The competition runs throughout the year at junior and senior level in 15 different events with a points system producing a champion house at the end of the year
Sports clubs and activities which extend our curricular provision, eg gymnastics, dance, badminton and trampolining
