We
believe that young children should be taught to work and play constructively
at the earliest opportunity. The Pre-Prep Department provides the perfect
environment for this. Small classes and a thoughtfully
constructed timetable will ensure that your child Children in the Kindergarten and Reception Years follow the Foundation Stage Curriculum and enjoy a magnificent indoor and outdoor learning environment. An exclusive area of the playground has been given to the Early Years children so that they can extend their experience of learning through creative play using a range of specially designed equipment. The National Curriculum at Key Stage One is implemented throughout Years 1 & 2 and is enhanced by specialist teaching in Music, PE & Games and Information Technology. The Pre-Prep Department has its own Dining Hall, Library and Art Room and the Pre-Prep Playground is lavishly equipped with large apparatus. The Pre-Prep children also have full access to the Gymnasium, Swimming Pool, Assembly Hall, Music Centre and ICT Suite and regularly enjoy the delights afforded by the 100 acres of natural woodland on the campus. Continuous assessment follows the children through their learning in the Pre-Prep, starting with the Foundation Stage Profile and leading up to formal testing at the end of Key Stage One. The National Curriculum “SATs” are supplemented by standardised tests which permit us to compare individual pupils’ attainments objectively with those of their peer groups nationally.
