Overall Summary

This is a school with many strengths and very few weaknesses.  Standards of attainment and progress are good.  The behaviour of pupils is very good and they respond very positively to the good teaching.  The school provides very high levels of pastoral care, relationships among pupils and between them and the staff are of a high order and the provision for pupils’ personal and social development is very good.  The leadership and management of the school by the head and senior management team, supported by the governors are very good.  Some imbalances were detected in the teaching time allocated to the core subjects in Years 1 and 2 and some inconsistencies occur generally in the quality of reports to parents.
