In addition to well-equipped form-rooms for each of the sixteen classes, the Prep School pupils benefit enormously from our specialist subject facilities. The school has sought to provide each area of the curriculum with a specialist teacher and many dedicated teaching rooms.
The Science Laboratory enables a much higher order of experimental work to be conducted by the Prep School pupils under the guidance of the Head of Science.

The Prep School gymnasium is complemented by the whole-school Sports Complex and Indoor Swimming Pool, giving the Head of PE & Games enormous scope to offer the broadest range of sporting opportunities. Younger children have their PE lessons in the Prep School Gym, while pupils in Years 5 & 6 are able to take advantage of the outstanding new Gymnasium opened recently by Tim Henman. The main Sports Hall provides the venue for a wide range of indoor games and ensures that Games lessons are never lost if the weather is inclement. Every pupil receives a weekly swimming lesson, from specialist coaches, throughout the year. We employ a veritable army of specialist sports coaches to provide expert tuition in sports such as trampolining, tennis, judo, dance and table tennis.

The Prep School Music Department is practically a school in itself, with seven teaching rooms. The Head of Music has a staff of fourteen instrumental specialists and gives the pupils an unrivalled choice of class and individual lessons. Over half the pupils in the school learn a musical instrument and are able to join the many ensembles, ranging from the Full Orchestra to the String Quartet, the Choir to the Wind Band. The pupils enjoy outstanding levels of success in Associated Board Music Examinations and in the Croydon and Beckenham Music Festivals.
Both Pre-Prep and Prep School have Art & Design Rooms and the magnificent new Library, opened recently by the Children’s Laureate – Michael Morpurgo, is complemented by a Pre-Prep Library adjacent to Years 1 & 2.

The school is equipped with an extensive ICT network whose tentacles extend from the main computer suite into every working area of the school. The computers are very up-to-date and feature the latest ‘Windows XP’ software and excellent access to the school intranet and the World-Wide-Web.
