The best season ever!

The 2005-2006 season was quite remarkable with a number of outstanding individual and team performances.

The team comprising mainly Ewen Stevenson, Kohei Yamaguchi, Pip France and Jack Maloney dominated the Croydon League and went on to regional and national finals with the following results.

  • Winners of the U11
    Croydon Primary School League
  • Winners of the U11
    Surrey Schools League
  • Winners of the U11
    Surrey Metropolitan League
  • Winners of the English Schools
    TT Association Knockout Cup
  • Winners of the Regional 20 Strong Zone Finals
  • Runners Up in the South of England Finals

If that was not enough, individual performances soon followed.

Ewen Stevenson won the Surrey School Singles and also got to the last eight in the ETTA National finals in the under -11 category.  He also got through to the last sixteen in the same U12’s tournament.  On a real high, he then got through to the knockout stages in the National Schools TT Finals in Stoke.

Ewen Stevenson and Pip Francis won the Surrey Schools U-11 Pairs Competition, and both Kohei and Ewen were successful in the London and South East Regional trials, they were both asked to play in the National Finals in Bristol.

A job well done! Congratulations to all the players and a huge thanks to their coach, John Standing, and those ever busy parents who followed the team around religiously.
