Royal Russell Preparatory School has 300 girls and boys aged 3+ to 11+, and occupies the same campus as Royal Russell School, which has 550 girls and boys aged 11 to 18.

The Pre-Prep Department is arranged into four year groups

Kindergarten
aged 3 - 4 years
Reception
aged 4 - 5 years
Year One
aged 5 - 6 years
Year Two
aged 6 - 7 years

Each class has form teacher who is responsible for the pupil's welfare and most of their education. A number of Teaching Assistants and qualified Nursery Nurses give support to the Form Teachers.

Children in Years One and Two receive weekly lessons in P. E. and I.C.T. by subject specialist teachers and all of the PRe-Prep pupils are taught by the Head of Music.

The Prep School Headmaster is supported by the Head of Pre-Prep who administers the Pre-Prep Department on a day to day basis and is responsible for the maintenance and implementation of the Foundation Stage and National Curriculum at Key stage1.
