INTRODUCTION
RS offers opportunities for pupils to learn, understand and respect different religious beliefs, values and traditions, including ethical teachings. Pupils learn how religion has influenced individuals, societies, communities and cultures. Through discussion, students are encouraged to explore their own spirituality and religious viewpoints.

 

 

Religious Studies

CURRICULUM

Pupils will:

  • Explore issues within, across and between faiths and consider questions of meaning and purpose in life
  • Learn about religious and ethical teaching, enabling reasoned and informed judgements to be made on religious and moral issues
  • Develop a sense of identity and belonging, preparing for adult life as citizens in a plural society
  • Develop skills of enquiry and analysis

RELIGIOUS STUDIES AT GCSE

GCSE RS has continued to enjoy an increase in popularity at Royal Russell. The course looks at key philosophical and ethical issues facing our world today. In the past 2 years over 90% of students have gained an A*.
