The Independent Schools Inspectorate completed a full inspection in 2004 reporting that:

• The school has all-round strengths
• The Headmaster, supported by strong senior and middle management, has led the school forward purposefully in recent years,
• The academic staff are good teachers and tutors, and they are well supported by non-teachng staff.
• The wide-ranging extra-curricular programme contributes greatly to pupils' personal development.
• The school has a good relationship with its parents and wide-ranging and effective links with the local community.
• Library provision is extensive. It is attractive to pupils who use it well.
• The school has very good facilities for ICT, and pupils take full advantage of these.
