It is widely accepted that it is more interesting and rewarding to be a housemate in Keable than in Big Brother. We will be remembered for our team spirit and achievements, which is more than can be said for the collection of oddballs from Channel 4!

As well as the newcomers to the School, we were pleased to welcome a contingent of boys and Mr Stanley on a free transfer from our ‘axed’ neighbours, Crispin. This transition was seamless:  it’s the same distance to walk from the car park, and all they had to change was their tie!

It was a mixed year on the sports front. We spent the first two terms in the doldrums, with only a lone victory in the Senior Indoor Hockey. The Summer Term, however, was more rewarding, as we soared to success in the Junior and Senior Cricket, Junior Tennis and Senior Tug-of-War. My thanks to all who helped our cause throughout the year.

In the Activities Competition, we triumphed in the Drama event. Thanks to James, Mattie and Josh for their sterling efforts. And Edmund’s entry in the Poetry Competition was regarded as one of the best!

The resourceful Mrs Culbert was up to her old tricks again. This year she bullied the Headmaster into submission to get us an outdoor table tennis table. This was followed by the Keable calendar, a sought-after publication featuring the great and the good of the House in their version of ‘Calendar Boys’. Thanks to her hard work, we raised £113 from the sales for the charity World Vision. This was used to buy a flock of sheep, an emergency clean water kit and cooking set.

Congratulations to:

  2. Jamie Butler for winning the Intermediate Cross-Country and representing Surrey Schools at football.
  3. Prize winners - James Dunn, George Morris, Adam Sandhu, Jamie Butler and James Jeffrey.
