Junior Teams bring Boys Championship ‘Home’ to Cambridge

Cambridge boys enjoyed an extremely successful year participating in a wide range of school and house activities.

The Boys House Championship finally returned to Cambridge after a six year gap and much credit must go to the Junior Teams who dominated the House competition winning the Indoor and Outdoor Football, Table Tennis, Badminton, Tennis, Basketball, Cricket, Outdoor Hockey and runners up in Indoor Hockey. They were well supported by the seniors who were runners up in Tennis, Outdoor Hockey and Basketball.

The House Cross Country was also won convincingly by Cambridge House. Congratulations to the many boys (53 in total) who played in the House teams and also to the supporters who added wonderful atmosphere to the events. It showed great effort commitment and House spirit.

Many Cambridge boys also represented the school notable at football, hockey, cricket, table tennis and basketball. House events continue to be well supported. Cambridge had 5 stalls at the Christmas Fair raising over £400 for House funds. The ‘Fruit Machine’ was a particular success. The Halloween party produced some wonderful costumes and was a very enjoyable event, as was the Christmas House Party which was its usual riotous occasion with the Russian omelette game reaching new depths of popularity.

In the House Sky television has proved very popular and the wireless connection to the internet even more popular! I would like to thank all the prefects for their help in the house, and in particular, Franco Ng, who was such a supportive and reliable Head of House. Also to the Cambridge House staff: Mr Rocca, Mr Hutchinson, Mr Jewiss, Mr Parmar, Miss Roe, Miss Calvet and Mrs Rhodes for their hard work and support for me and the boys during the year.

John Piggin
Housemaster
