Spring Term 2012 Half Term Ends Monday 20 February at 8:30am for registration (Boarders return by 9:00pm Sunday 19 February) Term Ends Friday 30 March at 3:50pm Summer Term 2012 Term Begins Tuesday 17 April at 8:30am for registration (Boarders return by 6:00pm Monday 16 April) Exeat Weekend Friday 4 May (at 3:50pm) to Tuesday 8 May (8:30am for registration) (Boarders return between 6:00pm and 9:00pm Monday 7 May) Monday May 7 – SCHOOL WILL BE CLOSED Half Term Begins Friday 1 June at 3:50pm Half Term Ends Monday 11 June at 8:30am for registration (Boarders return by 9:00pm Sunday 10 June) Term Ends Thursday 5 July at 12:00 noon NOTES Day pupils should return after holidays and half-term holidays at 8:30am on the day specified above. Boarding pupils must return by 6:00pm on the day before the start of term. Boarding pupils unable to get home on the specified day at the end of any term or half-term may stay overnight and travel on the following day.

Facilities

The School is situated in 110 acres of grounds providing excellent academic and sporting facilities for all age groups.

Our recent programme of refurbishment and new building has transformed the opportunities available to our pupils.

Our boarding houses have been completely refurbished. In 2003 Her Majesty the Queen opened our new Library and Sixth Form Centre and in 2004 Tim Henman opened the extension to our Sports Hall which provides an additional gymnasium and changing facilities. The Performing Arts Centre was opened in 2010 by His Royal Highness, The Earl of Wessex. This provides facilities for Music and Drama along with a completely refurbished catering provision including a Sixth Form Café .

Other improvements in recent years have included a new Swimming Pool, six Computer Laboratories, a Design and Technology Centre including a Food Technology Room and a new Language Laboratory.

Catering

The Catering Department at Royal Russell is an independent In-House Catering Operation. This means that the school is free to choose it's own suppliers (local where possible) and it's own ethos on Catering, as opposed to having to follow a Company Policy. As a department, we believe in the importance of a healthy diet to support the pupils and staff in providing a full and rounded educational experience.
