Residential Trips Year 5
It's a Russellian rite of passage when children climb the stairs from downstairs and enter the upstairs world of Y5. There is a planned change of gear as phrases such as “show some independence” and “make your own sensible decision” become regular utterances in both classes. Research skills, computer assisted learning and the ability to organise workloads and homework commitments all look ahead to the dizzy worlds of Y6 and beyond. As ever, children respond well to the challenges; this is no better illustrated than in the annual autumn residential field trip to Gaveston Hall in the heart of the Sussex countryside. Please see below for further details on Gaveston Hall.

"These pastoral arrangements are highly effective, fostering pupils’ personal development and academic achievement extremely well. All staff promote the pupils’ self-confidence over a wide range of activities through support, praise and encouragement. Pupils say they are well cared for; they feel appreciated and that this gives them the confidence to turn to an adult should they have a problem". ISI Report 2010 |
