Welcome to this bumper Summer Term Edition of the Senior School Newsletter. This term has seen a great deal of focus on our final public examination preparation and I know that this can sometimes distort the normal programme of activities and events that occur in a busy school. We have though managed to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of our Patron in some style and also gave a tremendous review of the year on our new style ‘Royal Russell Day’ at the end of June.

The first week in July sees a huge range of trips and tours with the CCF to Germany and Crowborough, the 10th Year of our exchange visit to Japan, Duke of Edinburgh on the North Downs and Dartmoor, a Music tour to the South of France, a Geology Trip to Italy, a French Trip to Boulougne, the Biologists to Devon, a Spanish Trip to Valencia and all this before the World Challenge Expedition to Uganda. The girls and boys certainly have a busy summer ahead!
Thank you to all members of the Royal Russell Community who have made Alex and me so welcome in this first year. It has been a pleasure to get to know so many of you and I hope you all enjoy an ‘Olympic’ summer.
