R. Oscars Media Studies Exhibition April 2012
After the intermission, attention turned to the Year 13 prizes, with several Old Russellians and former Media students awarding the R.Oscar trophies. Former Head Boy, Tsidi Dagadu, who is completing his postgraduate studies in Marketing at Warwick, and Loveday Weller, Ex-President of GA, currently juggling careers in advertising and stand-up comedy, joined us to award the prize for Best Advert to Ivan. Competition for Best Film Trailer was fierce with outstanding work produced by Harriette and Tan.
Only the coveted Best Director prize remained. Whilst all the categories had been hotly contested Vania won this Award by a landslide. One of her many professionally executed co-curricular projects was screened before she picked up the R.Oscar, but it was left to her horror trailer to close the show. Gasps were stifled and eyes were covered as the tranquil surroundings of Royal Russell were transformed in to a creepy, nightmarish world.
