The Royal Russell Primary Mathematics Olympiad - May 2012
The Royal Russell Primary Mathematics Olympiad is an afternoon of absorbing mathematical activity for gifted and talented Year 5 pupils from schools across Surrey. This year, twenty Junior Schools participated, with teams of four pupils competing in a carousel of written and practical problem solving activities, displaying very some impressive thinking skills in the process.
In the competition part of the afternoon, Newton Prep was the overall winner of the Olympiad Trophy, with Amesbury School runners-up and Oak Lodge in third place. Our own Junior School Team achieved a creditable ninth place.
