Co-Curricular The department's annual productions are a popular event with pupils and parents alike. Recent productions have included: ‘Twelfth Night - Unplugged', a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's play telling the story in a very contemporary way but with all the beauty of the bard, ‘Cinderella', again with our own Royal Russell twist. The inaugural production in our Performing Arts Centre was 'Coram Boy'. To complement drama lessons there is an opportunity for all pupils to take part in Trinity Acting Classes after school. As well as being for the pupils' pleasure, this activity can lead to further qualifications. Over the years our pupils have regularily gained the highest marks in the UK. A Christmas Revue for charity, highlights the acting talents of our pupils and staff in a ‘light-hearted' way. |

Drama in the Curriculum Drama is taught at all key stages and is a popular choice at GCSE, AS & A level. Practical work is obviously key to this subject. Pupils do however study texts, develop a working knowledge of practitioners and theatre history, as well as honing their dramatic skills. Our exam results are excellent. All examined years achieved a 100% pass rate; 100% of GCSE pupils, and 100% of AS/A students gained an A or B grade. Many of our students go on to study drama at university whilst others use their experience to demonstrate an ability to interact confidently and effectively with others. |
