They came from 30 schools across the globe including Japan, Turkey, Germany, Ireland, America, Greece, Italy and all over the British Isles, to take part in the annual MODEL UNITED NATIONS held at Royal Russell School, Croydon.
The prestigious event this year celebrated its 30th Anniversary welcoming students from all over the world during half term to take part in what promised to be an incredible experience.
The school hall was filled to capacity with an array of international talent but the excitement came to a halt as the Headmaster’s welcoming speech began and the eager delegates thought on the intense issues ahead.
Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. There can be few better ways of building self-confidence, diplomatic skills and an understanding of international issues than taking part in this unique conference. But it’s not all work and no play, this year two themed discos were also enjoyed by all.
