Royal Russell Welcomes 540 Students to the 29th Model United Nations Conference - October 2010

The 29^th Royal Russell School MUN conference commenced over half term week with the buzzing murmurs of delegates from schools all over the world as they took their seats for what promised to be an incredible experience.

The school hall was filled to capacity with 540 students from 30 schools across the globe including Japan, Turkey, Germany, Ireland, America, Italy and many more.

The eager and determined delegates whispers came to a halt, however, as the Headmaster's welcoming speech began and the delegates thought on the intense issues ahead. Model United Nations is an authentic simulation of the UN General Assembly and other multilateral bodies.

There can be few better ways of building self-confidence, diplomatic skills and an understanding of international issues than taking part in this unique conference. But it's not all work and no play this year two themed discos were also enjoyed by all.
