Senior School Annual Ski Trip - February 2011
Over February half term, 36 excited students and 5 intrepid staff set off for the now annual pilgrimage to the Rocky Mountains, and a welcome return for Royal Russell to Snowbasin, Utah - home of the alpine events at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics 2002.

Wet patchy snow, crowded slopes, surly staff and long queues for chair lifts awaited all those who headed for the Alps, but none of these things were given even a passing thought. Once the long journey was over - all we agreed Las Vegas was a dump - five days of faultless skiing on fresh powder followed. The apres ski activities of ice hockey, basketball (go Utes!) and shopping (our students' natural habitat) proved as popular as ever, as did the fabulous hospitality of all the locals.

Everyone made it back in one piece; a little tired, yes, a little fitter, certainly (even Mr Baron) - and all desperate to book for 2012! Many thanks to the wonderful staff who made the trip run so smoothly, and to the students, whose good humour and consideration for others made the trip so enjoyable.
