On Tuesday 1st March Nursery Fox Cubs and Reception Jumping Wallabies travelled to London on a coach to the Young Vic Theatre to see a production of And the Rain Falls Down. The show explored the pleasures children experience when playing with water.

Making A Difference With All Their Heart! - March 2011
Not one but two pupils from Royal Russell School put their heart and sole into raising much needed funds for the British Heart Foundation recently, raising a magnificent £1,100 between them. Year 4 pupil Rhea's fun hobby resulted in an impressive £700 for the BHF, when the determined youngster managed to swim over a mile for the charity.

Over February half term, 36 excited students and 5 intrepid staff set off for the now annual pilgrimage to the Rocky Mountains, and a welcome return for Royal Russell to Snowbasin, Utah - home of the alpine events at the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics 2002.

On Saturday 5th February James, one of our Year Five pupils, competed in the South East Regional Table Tennis Qualification Event. Still only U10 he competed in the U11 and U12 events. We are so proud of you James!

French Soirée, C’est Fantastique! - February 2011
The Modern Foreign Languages Department organised a French soirée this week. All pupils from Years 6 to 8 attended this French educational performance in the Auditorium, which was followed by a French food tasting experience in the school Dining Hall.

The 43rd Hague International Model United Nations Conference - January 2011
Fifteen students from Royal Russell School were lucky enough to be among the 3,500 students who last week attended, The 43rd Hague International Model United Nations Conference (THIMUN). THIMUN is a five-day simulation of the United Nations for secondary school students to which the Royal Russell students were accompanied by History teacher John Piggin, who also sits on the THIMUN Advisory Board.

Year 2 Meet Florence Nightingale! - January 2011
To start the week Year 2 and our Headmaster went to the campus of St Thomas's Hospital. We visited the statues of Queen Victoria and Florence Nightingale and saw the medals of the famous ‘Nightingale' nurses. We then went to eat our lunch overlooking the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

First Class Royal Russell Chamber Choir! - December 2010
Chamber Choir & Bill Nighy
Taking part in a truly exciting event and raising a magnificent £10,978 for the charity RaPT, was just one of the Royal Russell School Chamber Choir recent concerts. They also managed to fit in a concert tour to sing in Gibraltar Cathedral where they received high praise from the Dean of Europe the Very Reverend Doctor John Paddock, “Magnificent performers, first class musicians with exemplary behaviour”.
