Pastoral Care
Pastoral Care is an enormous strength of Royal Russell School. At every level our community aims to provide the ideal conditions in which our young people can thrive. Our House based system provides continuity throughout their time at the School. The Housemaster or Housemistress will welcome them to the School and carefully monitor their progress over the years supported by a full team of Tutors. From here a network of care extends through regular contact with subject staff and support staff.


House System
All pupils are assigned to one of nine houses. Each House is supervised by a Housemaster or Housemistress, supported by other members of staff, and meets for weekly House Assemblies. Competition is annual in all major sports for the award of the House Trophy.


Sixth Form Centre

Spacious purpose-built facilities. Networked computers allowing Internet access for research. Wide range of fiction and non-fiction books and magazines. Audio-visual and CD-Rom resources. Scanner and photocopier for pupil use. Helpful professional staff. Separate study centre for Sixth Form students. Prospects Accredited Library Award holder. OPEN 8:30am—5:15pm

This airy, spacious building houses the Library and Sixth Form Centre as well as the offices of the Head of Careers and the Head of Sixth Form. It is part of the Queen Elizabeth II Building opened by Her Majesty The Queen in November 2003. The Library currently houses over 11,000 items of stock.
