HRH Prince Edward's Visit December 2010
One of the highlights of 2010 was the visit of HRH The Earl of Wessex to officially open our fantastic new Performing Arts Centre. Prince Edward was very enthusiastic about the playing of the Orchestra and he was able to meet a number of Senior pupils after their short concert for him in the Music Department.
Having inspected our excellent recording studio, Prince Edward then visited our state of the art Music Technology suite and was able to watch and talk to members of Year 8 as they worked on the Apple MACS. Prince Edward was also delighted to hear the combined choirs of the Junior and Senior School sing for him in Chapel and then ‘The Choristers’ and Barbershop were joined by members of the Choral Society for a most exciting rendition of Karl Jenkins’ ‘Dies Irae’ with piano and percussion accompaniment.
