Buchanan Onesie Walk – covering the London Loop from Ewell West to Kingston….
The sun was shining. The birds were singing. We were up for the challenge of a 7.3 mile yomp along the Hogsmill river. We hadn’t quite factored in the mud. Nor the strange looks from dog walkers, bemused as they were by our outfits and map-reading skills. Nor having to sit at a bus stop in Kingston, in very muddy onesies. But we had a marvellous time. A HUGE thank- you to all the girls who participated; you were stars. The donations are still coming in so another massive thank you to all who have given both their money and support.
Buchanan Girls Take The Junior School on a Onesie Cross Country Walk in the Dark
In the first London Loop event to bring both the Junior and Senior schools together, Buchanan House joined in with pupils from the Junior school and their parents on a torch-lit lap of the Cross Country course. Everyone was then invited back to the house to warm up. The excitement built as the girls picked up the children dressed in their onesies of all colours and styles (including a very resourceful one created from blankets and coats!) and as the sun set, the group set off into the woods. The walk was full of chatter and laughter as everyone enjoyed themselves, regardless of the cold, and before they knew it they had reached the end. Everyone returned back to the house to discover hot chocolate and cake waiting for them, a well-deserved treat and a great end to the week. We made at least 150 hot chocolates and the cakes went down a storm, so hopefully these numbers will be reflected in all the other events to come!
