Cross Country

With our extensive woodland facilities there is endless opportunities to run a real cross country course. The pupils love ‘devils hill’ and practise shuttles up and down it! We have a popular running club run by an exceptionally experienced coach who has run every London marathon except one! Mr Swann also enjoys cross country running and the pupils gain a lot of hints and tips from his expertise. The pupils take part in a variety of ‘meets’ over the year and we enjoy success at Croydon level as well as local school events. All pupils take part in the House cross country event with enthusiasm and a smile on their faces.

Surrey Schools Cross Country

15 pupils travelled to Reigate Priory for this tough event. With 100 runners in each category split across 2 races there was some tough competition. All the pupils ran really well with the highlights being Josh and Leo both finishing 9th in their respective races and Islay 10th. All 3 pupils have received an invite to a Surrey development day.

Croydon Schools Cross Country

Super Saturday inspired wicked Wednesday! This event has between 150 & 175 runners per race so it is a big event on our calendar.
The Y5 girls all ran superbly well to finish in the top 44 and the Y6 boys finished in the top 98, excellent running from the pupils. In a very exciting Y5 boys race Leo and Joshua took the lead from the off and ran the whole race clearly going for a one, two finish! In a simply brilliant run Leo finished as CROYDON SCHOOLS CHAMPION with Josh as RUNNER UP- an awesome result.
In the Y6 girls race we had another battle for a medal position between Islay and Millie who ran neck and neck all the way, Islay just pipped Millie on the line for a fantastic 3RD place finish with Millie in 4TH. Both girls have now been selected to run for Croydon in the London Youth Games- another outstanding achievement.

Millie ran a superb race to finish 5th and Holly also ran a great strategic race to finish 6th.

Year 3 and 4 Croydon Schools Cross Country

A huge well done to our 25 pupils who took part in the Croydon schools cross Country race at Lloyd Park.

In a very exciting Y3 boys race Evan and Zac set off near the front and after some tussling for positions secured 2nd and 3rd! The Y4 boys race was even more exciting with Joshua and Leo battling it out for the lead, in a very close race Joshua won for the second year running with Leo just behind in 2nd. All the pupils ran really well with some excellent finishes in races with in excess of 150 runners.

Year 5 and 6 Cross Country

Congratulations to all our Year 5 and 6 Cross Country runners. Each race had nearly 200 pupils in so our results were super impressive! All pupils ran the whole 1.8km around Lloyd Park.

As a result of the great placings Ethan, Holly and Eivie have been selected to run for Croydon in the London Youth Games cross country event with Yasmin first reserve.
