Last weekend, the Sixth Form enjoyed a trip to Spain's capital with Señorita Missan y Señorita Conde from the Spanish Department.
After arriving in the city, we checked out the tapas scene and tucked in to some delicious comida in the heart of Madrid. Saturday morning consisted of a trip to the stunning Palacio Real de Madrid where we experienced a guided tour of the many majestic rooms and 300 different clocks owned by King Felipe. We then took a stroll into Plaza Mayor where we were captured by 'Espider-Man Gordo' (Fat Spiderman) and took a walk through the amazing food markets of Madrid. After a little free time (shopping, bartering, caricaturing, paella-ing), we headed out to another quarter of Madrid for the evening to see a traditional flamenco show, with un monton de tapas once again. The dancers were absolutely mesmerising and their passion created both laughter and applause from us all. ¡Olé!
Sunday brought the sun and a trip to El Museo del Prado, one of the most famous art galleries in Spain. After a hearty lunch, we visited Parque del Retiro which was muy bonito! Beautiful views, a row on the lake and chicos guapos (Abdul Asell) made for a perfect afternoon before heading to the airport via El metro and departing for London…
