Rush Hour Concert

On Tuesday evening, the Chapel was the venue for a short informal ‘Rush Hour’ concert, focusing on our instrumental pupils.
There was a wide range of instruments, styles, standards and ages on show, with some of the Year 7 performers playing in public for the very first time.
The concert was enjoyed by an appreciative audience. Many thanks to all of the pupils for performing, and to the Music staff who helped them prepare for the event.

Rush Hour Concert

On Tuesday, we enjoyed our annual Guitar and Percussion Concert The venue for the concert was moved from Room A10 to the Auditorium, in order to accommodate an unprecedented number of performers. Thirty-one pupils took part, playing pieces in a variety of styles, ranging  from ‘The Flintstones’ theme tune to Pink Floyd!

We are grateful in particular to our visiting Guitar and Percussion teachers, Mr Bell, Mr Hill, Mr Rich and Mr Stankovic, whose able  supervision and assistance enabled the concert to proceed very slickly indeed, supported by a large and enthusiastic audience.

Choirs Perform at Southwark Cathedral

On Wednesday, the combined School choirs visited Southwark Cathedral, to sing Choral Evensong. This prestigious annual event gives everyone the opportunity to sing some of the best known works from the  genre in a Cathedral setting.

Everyone performed extremely well, with special acknowledgement to Thalia, Edgar, Lily, Charlie, and Ben, who sang solos.

Many thanks to Mr Ford who played the  organ, to all the other members of staff who helped out in so many ways, and to the parents who came along to attend the service.

Rush Hour Concert 2018

Monday, we enjoyed the first ‘Rush Hour’ Concert of the year, on this occasion featuring our talented singers. Pupils from across the age-range performed a programme ranging in style from Schönberg to Stradella.

These concerts give pupils who are less experienced at singing or playing to an audience, an opportunity to demonstrate their talents in a less formal environment than some of the bigger events that we have.

The following pupils performed: Ellie, Carey, India, Amber, Lillan Hamilton, Georgia, Nancy, Serena, Melissa, Grace ; Mr Bell’s Ensemble; Lily.
Members of Mr Bell’s Ensemble were: Lily, Ellie, Isabelle, Grace and Emelie.

Many thanks to Mr Bell, Mr Millward and Miss O’Hanlon for all their help and support in preparing pupils for their performances, and providing piano accompaniment.

On Monday we were treated to a ‘Rush Hour’ concert in the Chapel, which this time featured some of our younger singers.

The following students performed: Nancy, Georgia, Alice, India, Charlotte, Ophelia, Sophia, Ellie, Luca, Molly S, Molly Bn and Mitchell. The concert was very well supported.

Well done to everyone who performed, and many thanks to Mr Millward for his piano accompaniment.
