On Sunday 17 April, 400 local children, from 12 schools, took part Royal Russell School’s first charity Triathlon event – the Flight Centre RestlessTriathlon. The event raised almost £30,000 for the international youth charity, Restless Development, which supports young people to lead change, including in developing countries in Africa and Asia.
The children, girls and boys aged from 8 to 15 years, competed in teams of four at swimming, cycling and running. The course was challenging, requiring the under 11’s to cycle 1,000m, run 750m and swim four lengths of the Royal Russell pool, but all children completed it, cheered on by their teammates, friends and families. They were all incredibly proud of what they had achieved.
Have a look at some great shots of the day - very well done to everyone involved.
