Sixth Formers' attend Connectography Lecture in South Kensington

Sixth Form geographers travelled with Mr Parham to South Kensington to watch a lecture at the Royal Geographical Society about Connectography.

Dr Parag Khanna spoke about how modern day countries are connected through advanced technology and new pipelines that make the possibility of transporting oil much easier between Russia and the UK. He suggested that soon the concept of mega city would transcend the importance of countries, as they become increasingly inter-linked with infrastructure and therefore lose the dependence of governmental action.

It was an interesting view of how human geography could change our day to day lives in the future and an insight into globalisation.
