Interactive workshops, independent investigations and animal antics occupied our Year 8 students as they embarked on a field trip to London Zoo this week. The inclement weather did not dampen spirits as Year 8 enjoyed a day scavenging for information about conserved species. The day commenced travelling by tram, train, tube then a ‘brisk’ walk through Regents Park.
Having collected information from the field trip, students returned to class and design campaigns to support their chosen endangered species. This will encourage use of persuasive language, creativity through designing merchandise and producing items to sell or eat (!) and designing posters and leaflets to target an audience to support their campaign. We anticipate a buzzing corridor outside the Geography department in the next few weeks as students present their campaigns to their peers.
