The Admissions Process
Selecting the right Senior School for your child can be the most valuable decision you make as a parent and we are here to guide you and answer any questions that you have.
The usual points of entry are Year 7, Year 9 and Year 12 although places may arise from time to time in other year groups.
We recommend you visit us with your child, meet our Headmaster, pupils and staff and enjoy a guided tour of our beautiful school site. Our next Open Morning will be on Saturday 26 September from 8.30am to 12.00pm for Nursery, Junior, Senior and Sixth Form. You will see our outstanding on-site facilities, spacious well-equipped classrooms and experience the warm relationships that exist between our staff, pupils and parents.
Your next step is to complete our registration form here and pay the registration fee. The registration fee of £100 (£150 for a boarding place) is payable by cheque or can be paid by credit or debit card by telephone on 020 8657 4433 or you can do this via Wisepay here.
Royal Russell is a popular school and demand for places is high. Our entry assessments held in January are designed to assess ability and identify potential and our aim is to ensure that we offer places to the young people to who demonstrate that they are best placed to make the most of what we offer and have the aptitude and attitude to thrive and make a positive contribution to our school community.
There is no entrance examination for Sixth Form students as acceptance is based on GCSE performance according to our entrance criteria.
Upon receiving our offer of a place, an acceptance deposit is payable to secure the place for your child.
We would be delighted to answer any questions you may have about our admission procedures and to arrange a tour of the School.
We look forward to welcoming you.
Mrs Katie James
Senior School Registrar
