Inspection Reports

The Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) is a Government approved inspectorate responsible for the inspection of association independent schools.

We are very pleased to share the excellent outcome of our ISI Inspection, which took place in December 2025. The report recognises, clearly and consistently, the strength of our values, the quality of our ambitious provision and the distinctive character of our learning community.

Since changes to the inspection framework in 2023, ISI inspection reports no longer provide schools with an overall judgement or grade, but instead report on compliance or non-compliance in five different aspects of school life:

  • Leadership, Management and Governance

  • Quality of Education, Training and Recreation

  • Pupils’ Physical and Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing

  • Pupils’ Social and Economic Education and Contribution to Society

  • Safeguarding

We are delighted to confirm that Royal Russell was found to be compliant in all areas.

Beyond compliance, the report highlights the positive relationships, strong safeguarding culture, thoughtful leadership and high-quality teaching that underpin daily life here. It affirms the environment we work so hard to create: one in which pupils are supported, challenged and encouraged to flourish.

This outcome reflects the collective effort of our whole community. Thank you to the parents and guardians who completed the inspection survey and for your continued partnership with the School. Thanks also go to our staff, whose professionalism, dedication and care for pupils were evident throughout the inspection process.
