Gymnastics is a key part of our curriculum offering with our youngest pupils exploring our extensive apparatus, they continue their journey with specific gymnastics teaching from Year 2 to Year 6. Pupils who show particular aptitude in gymnastics are recommended to the outside clubs we have links with.
In the Junior School we offer two Gymnastics clubs a with an extended session to prepare the gymnasts for the range of competitions we enter. These include a Novice competition against local schools, Surrey Schools events at U9 and U11 level as well as London Region competitions for our advanced gymnasts.
We have great success in the Surrey Schools' events with both our U11A and B squads finishing 3rd in the Surrey Schools' Sports Acro competitions.
Last year we had a mixed team at the National Schools' team gymnastics finals which is a great achievement.
The Gymnastics Squad competed well in the Royal Russell Annual Competition against many local schools. The Year 3 Team finished 3rd, the Year 4s finished an impressive 2nd and both the Year 5 and Year 6 Teams won their groups! It was a lovely afternoon of Gymnastics, with many pupils performing in their very first competition.
