"I'd say my philosophy on teaching is you get out what you put in, and that's not just for the children."
Jack Gallagher, Biology Teacher
What drew you to work at Royal Russell?
I was lucky enough to go to school here at Royal Russell and then I went to university and saw there was an opportunity to come back within Royal Russell's Science department - I thought it was a great opportunity to be able to come back and give back to the school that gave so much to me.
What was your favourite subject at school?
My favourite subject was obviously Biology, the main reason for that is because Mrs Barton was my teacher, she was absolutely fantastic and I'm now blessed to have her as my head of department here as well, so I've never stopped loving Biology!
If you could instantly master any skill what would it be?
I would love to be able to play all the instruments in the world, I often see the pupils performing at Royal Russell Day and think they are absolutely amazing - all I can do is play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.
What is your philosophy on teaching?
I'd say my philosophy on teaching is you get out what you put in and that's not just for the children, they should always be trying their very hardest to get the rewards, but it's also for us teachers, if we work as hard as we possibly can we often see the best in our children as well.
