At the start of the October Half Term, we held our 44th International MUN Conference, attended by over 550 pupils and guests from 27 different schools and ten different countries. Our Admin Team gave a warm welcome to all our visitors as they arrived, ready for four days of debates and social events.
Our delegates represented Germany and Israel, with opening ceremony ambassadors delivering excellent speeches on behalf of both nations. Throughout the conference, delegates debated a wide range of important global issues, including the protection of indigenous rights, combatting piracy, the use of autonomous weapons systems, gender equality, promoting free and fair elections, and sustainable agriculture, among many others. One pupil also had the opportunity to serve as a Judge in the International Court of Justice, which ran alongside the conference and considered a case concerning the alleged smuggling of migrants.
Our Media Team produced many fantastic videos throughout the conference, highlighting the best moments of MUN. Their hard work culminated in coverage of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the General Assembly and, of course, our very own MUN’s Got Talent. Special recognition should also go to those who hosted the show so expertly.
Our Press Team created four excellent editions of our MUN magazine, The Delegate, featuring interviews, articles on the global issues being debated in committees, and popular entertainment and fashion columns.
Our Royal Russell Chairs worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth running of debates and to support delegates across all committees, helping to maintain the high standard of discussion and diplomacy throughout the conference.
Finally, our Secretariat Team led this 44th edition with professionalism, kindness and dedication, overseeing all committees and chairing the General Assembly. Their hard work ensured a memorable and rewarding experience for everyone involved.
Congratulations to everyone who took part in and supported this fantastic event.
