"I'm most looking forward to the connections that I'll be making with everyone!"

Rev'd D van Kan

What do like most about Royal Russell?

The vibrant community, the teachers, the students, all the staff are just such positive individuals and as a happy chaplain, that's a great place to be!

Wat are you most looking forward to this year?

I would say I'm most looking forward to the connections that I'll be making with everyone in general, not just the pupils but the parents and guardians as well, everyone who is involved with Royal Russell. I'm just excited in general to get to meet people.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life?

Well, firstly God, it makes sense; He has been the guiding force within everything that I've done in my career. And then secondly, it's been my mother. She was the most supportive individual you could ever ask for as a human being. She always reminded me of my potential to do good and also reminded me to stay blessed, not be stressed. So that's where I got the phrase from.

What is an interesting fact about you?

Many people don't know that I like making rosaries. It's something I really enjoy doing, it's a good way to pray and it's also a good way to remind people to pray.
