"Our family ethos is very welcoming here. You feel as though you're a real part of the Royal Russell family."

Page Manning, Year 5 Teacher

What piece of advice would you give to Royal Russell pupils?

Something that I tell the children in all of the classes that I teach is to be the best that you can be and to adopt a growth mindset. I would say that that is definitely something that will take them far, not just inside the classroom but outside into the wider world as well.

What drew you to work at Royal Russell?

Definitely the high expectations of the teaching and learning that's here. I would also say the grounds, they're absolutely beautiful. We've got forest school, swimming pools, netball courts, fields and more at our fingertips. So that's really, really fortunate. As well as that, I would say our family ethos is very welcoming here. It's very warm and you feel as though you're a real part of the Royal Russell family.

What is an interesting fact about you?

I would say probably the fact that I love gardening. I have found my passion recently over the years and I do have a plot in an allotment near my home. I love gardening, specifically in the summer term or visiting Kew Gardens, one of my favourite places!

What are you most looking forward to this year?

I'm most looking forward to the Year 5 Residential. It's the first time that we've moved to the summer term so it will definitely be a lot warmer but for the children they'll be able to showcase their power of collaboration which is a Royal Russell power and for us teachers we get to get stuck in as well.
